Flintlock The Siege of Dawn is a new souls-like with many innovations that are unusual for fans of FromSoftware projects (for example, the difficulty level). You will play as a girl sapper named Nor. Main Quest: To the Gates of Death
Watch the cutscene, after which Nor needs to get to his comrades, and you need to master the controls. Move through the trenches, following the game's prompts.
Pay attention to the mechanics of reputation. In general, these are the same souls or runes, but the better you play, the greater the bonus you get. In this way, the developers motivate you to use all available means and not get hung up on one technique. In addition, reputation is “selected” by a separate button, this is also worth remembering.
Once you reach Dawn Fortress, you'll encounter your first serious enemy, where you'll learn the mechanics of unblockable attacks. Once you're defeated, talk to Haalin behind bars. Once you're let through, talk to the others, then head to the magically sealed wall. Shoot the bluish barrier to open the passage.
Once you reach the end of the bridge, you will encounter the Guardian. This boss is invincible, so once Nohr's health is at zero, a cutscene will start.
Main Quest: Survivor's Guilt
Once you have control, follow your new ally through the cave. After crossing a few fallen beams, watch the cutscene again, then continue moving, jumping over crevices and ledges. When you reach the glowing corpse, the fox will ask for some gunpowder. You will receive a gunpowder jump and a dodge, which will allow you to overcome more difficult obstacles. During use, you can always do two of these moves and in any order. That is, whether you will first dodge quickly or then jump depends only on the situation. Jump off the cliff and at the last moment use the gunpowder jump to avoid damage.
A little ahead there will be a group of dead people. You will be taught how to use Enki-liz's combat skills. Go further and you will find the first bonfire, which is called the attraction stone here. Rest near it to get the first skill. An important clarification - skills can be learned outside of rest areas. If you want to rebuild your build - each skill is easy to forget, returning most of the reputation you spent.
Main Quest: From the Ashes
Once you get out of the cave, you will find yourself in a captured village. To liberate it, you need to defeat all enemies, including the strengthened warlord. Just go to the objective marker, clearing the area of the dead. As soon as the village is liberated, go to the coffee shop and talk to the owner in the center. Baz will appear right there, talk to him. Go to a new zone - Three Peaks.
Main mission: Defender of life
After the cutscene, you will find yourself in a camp. Baz asks you to bring him resources scattered around the area. Just follow the objective markers. Go to Baz and upgrade your weapon. Now you can go to the Fortress of Adoration.
Follow the path to the mountains until you see a skull on a bluish pedestal, activating it will give you access to portals that will help you overcome large gaps. There will be an outpost with two guards ahead. After the dialogue, you will have to kill them. Do not go straight forward, there is a passage to the resources to the left and back. There is also a sign on the wall of the outpost that you can read.
Go forward and immediately activate the attraction stone. From there, the task leads you to the left, but first go right. There you will run into a closed fortress. Inspect the right side closer to the cliff to find your first Blessing - a temporary upgrade, as well as another portal skull.
Activate it and move to the rock. Climbing up, you will find Enki's feather and increase its level. Ahead there will be another rock and a skull that will help you go down straight to the captured fortress.
Clear the area. You will reach the yard where the path ends. Climb the boxes to the wooden canopy, and from there jump to the higher wall.
There, follow the central road to reach the leader. Once the village is liberated, talk to the coffee shop owner. There are two reasons to do this. Each owner increases the number of health-restoring jars, and can also share rumors - additional tasks. Take the "Peacekeepers" quest, but it is still far away. The owners also sell new clothes.
Go outside and you will see the first player in Sebo with a triangle icon above his head. For winning, you will receive reputation - the local analogue of souls or runes. The essence of Sebo is simple - you must arrange the chips so that a triangle is formed before the moves are over, and in the second round, do not let the opponent do the same. In case of loss, you do not lose anything, so Sebo is a great way to get additional reputation, but only once. As soon as the opponent loses, all games with him give nothing. This rule does not work with Baz. The old man is available for play in each large camp and will give you a little reputation each time for winning. Now the fortress is open and you can quickly return to the stone to rest and level up.
Go left from the rock to the objective marker. Baz is waiting for you there. To advance, you need to find a barrel of gunpowder in the nearby knights' warehouse. Once you reach the entrance to the warehouse, look around. There are two more paths.
One in the cave on the left, and the second in the mountains behind. Visit the cave first, there will be resources. Now go up the mountain, activate the skull to go up. Turn left and defeat several enemies. There will be a skull on the left, ignore it and go to the end. You will find a chest with an additional throwing weapon - the Ripper grenade. This grenade releases 80 charges of shrapnel upon explosion, which pierces armor and causes bleeding in enemies with each hit. Now return to the skull, which will help you go down.
Enter the warehouse and go left. There are a couple of simple enemies and a climb up the cliff, at the end of which are resources. Clear the entire area below to find a barrel of gunpowder and a chest nearby. Inside is a new melee weapon - the Harbinger's Flame Axe.
Go back to where Baz was. The old man is gone, but you can blow up the wall with a barrel nearby. This will open the way further.
Main task: Combat hardening
Right after the breach is a knight. Next, the objective marker points to the left, but you go right to open a shortcut. You need to clear another fortress and open the gate, which will shorten the path from the attraction stone to your current position. Near the gate are three enemies, as well as a lever that will raise the grate.
After clearing the area, head back to the objective marker. You will encounter your first fast and strong enemy - be careful. There will be a gravity stone a little ahead. You will have to clear a large camp and liberate the settlement. There is a shooter at the entrance, so be vigilant. There are also aggressive birds in the camp, similar to chocobos from Final Fantasy - they are dangerous opponents. Here you can also complete the additional task "Peacekeepers".
Check the map to see where to go. When you get close to the quest, you will see a group of knights chasing a man running into a cave. Follow them. Climb to the very top and defeat two enemies. As a reward, you will receive the first piece of armor - sapper gloves.
Now you can clear out the remaining bandits and head to the village. There you will no longer be attacked, just go to the objective marker and make a fire. Baz will appear, who will give you a musket. Hit three targets nearby and talk to the man again. There are several Sebo players in the village.
Pay attention to the red monument located on the roof of the tallest building. You can get there through the ruins of houses or from the other side through the rocks. Be sure to get to the place, as this is the shrine of Inaya, which will increase the maximum health.
Follow the objective marker to blow up another barrel of gunpowder and open the passage to the village of Ilorybye. After a small enemy outpost there will be a stone of attraction, and then you need to clear the area.
Go to the coffee shop, talk to the owner to get another health bottle, and then find a man named Jung there, who will refuse to help. Talk to the owner again and find a carpenter in the village. The girl will ask you to destroy 4 flags hanging on different towers in the village. Along the way, you may notice portal skulls that will speed up the quest. Shoot the flags with a musket to burn them. Please note that there are only 3 rounds in the musket, so you will not be able to destroy all the flags in one go. One of the skulls in the village will open portals forward, where you have not been yet. Move there to find a new resting place. Thanks to the portals, you can replenish your ammo and quickly return to complete the quest. After success, return to the carpenter to receive the second piece of armor as a reward - a helmet.
When you exit the village, pay attention to the rock on the right. You can climb it through the portals. Note that there is a path to the left of this place. Jump over there and deal with several enemies to get a new grenade.
Keep to the left and don't miss the turn to the chest to get the Dragoon's Shoulder Pad - the final piece of armor.
Move forward until you see a building on the left. Climb it to find a red altar that increases your maximum health. Go a little further and you'll find a chest with a grenade.
There are many weak undead enemies and one strong one ahead of you. To make things easier, shoot the barrels of gunpowder. When the fight is over, climb the building to the left of the entrance. There will be a barrel there, which is needed to blow up the wall.
There is a bonfire ahead, where you can talk to Baz again. From him you will receive a new additional quest "Combat Casualties", in which you need to find the old man's stolen pistol. Your further path leads to an empty village, where you will meet new enemies - spiders.
Clear the village and collect all available resources, then head to the objective marker. There you will meet the first boss - the Restless Horror of the White Bridge.
The battle takes place in two stages. In the first, the monster will attack mainly with physical attacks, while in the second, magical ones will be added. Sometimes the Restless One will shoot three clots of energy that fly towards the Burrows and explode. Also, beware of unblockable attacks with a red glow - they take away a lot of health.
After winning, talk to Jung and take the reward from the box.
Main task: Gunpowder and steel
Go to the coffee shop after Jung to get a healing flask and two additional quests: "Long-awaited meeting", "Shot in the dark". Now you can send to look for Baz's pistol.
Go to the objective marker until you hit a rock. You'll have to jump a bit to get to the cave. Inside, go down into the mine and activate the resting place. Then move along the mine, killing the undead and spiders. You'll find the last remaining deserter and take Baz's blunderbuss. Blow up the rubble with the gunpowder barrel that's lying nearby and a crowd of monsters will immediately attack you. After winning, move forward, killing enemies and eventually get outside. There, activate the portal skull to quickly return to Baz and turn in the task.
Follow the main mission marker. You will find yourself in the swamps, then in a fortress with new knights. Kill everyone in the courtyard and open the passage to the attraction stone. There will be a collapsed bridge ahead, go down, deal with the spearman and turn left. There will be three opponents and a chest with a new helmet. Now from the place of descent go right and activate the skull. The portal will help you rise higher. Here you can get to the target marker, but do not rush. Nearby is an idol that will increase health.
When you get to the marker, you will see a knight fighting the undead ahead. Help him and talk to him. To the right there will be a wooden staircase to the fort, where you can set up camp and rest.
Look around the area, there is a tower with Enki's feather, and then go to the marker.
You will find yourself in a cave. Go through it and you will find yourself on a rock where a mini-boss will appear. Deal with him and continue climbing. You will come to a water mill with an attraction stone to the left. There are many enemies in the surrounding area, so be careful. In addition, to the left of the water mill there is a tower with an idol that increases health. Note that there is an elevator near the rest point that can be accessed through portals. There is a barrel of gunpowder on it - you will need it to advance the quest.
Once you get into the mine, be careful. First, pick up a new weapon from the chest. The cache is right on the way. Now you will be met by a huge cluster of the undead. Clear them out, and then go to the end of the mine and go up one level.
You should find a square-shaped elevator shaft that leads up. Jumping from ledge to ledge, you will eventually climb up. Now go back a little and on the left you will see a resting place. Ahead there will be one dead man and a skull, which will provide you with a quick climb up in case of death. Move to the marker point, jumping over the remains of the rails, but be careful, an exploding enemy is waiting on the second platform.
Go forward a little and meet two shooters, deal with them, but do not go left, as the marker shows, but right. This way you will get to the chest with a new firearm. A group of enemies is waiting below. Deal with them and you will come out to the attraction stone. Go forward and you will see a place for a barrel of gunpowder. To find it, turn left and climb the ledges. When you find the barrel, do not rush to go down. Go to the corridor on the left and on the right side you will see a skull, which will speed up the movement to the rubble.
Blow up the barrel to get the cursed stone and improve Enki's abilities. Now you can move on with the quest.
