Yes, but keep in mind Facebook and Instagram tend to focus on personal activities. Twitter can be a professional network but is also riddled with non-professional content and accounts, including internet trolls (people who provoke emotional responses). Therefore, when posting about Northrop Grumman, it is recommended to post on LinkedIn, the most widely used professional social media network.
I work on a restricted program. Can I post to social media?
Yes, but use common sense and do not accidentally leak classified material. Because you work on a restricted program, keep social media posts to more high-level or generic experiences. For example, how you leverage off-Fridays to support work-life balance, how you navigate challenging situations at work (E.g., interpersonal relationships, leadership, etc.), or how you navigate remote working.
What should I do or not do to stay aligned with company policies and procedures?
The company requires employees engaging in social media activity or other public communications to act with integrity and in a manner consistent with our values, Standards of Business Conduct, and operating practices. A few points for consideration:
- Employees must not disclose non-public Northrop Grumman, customer, or third-party information on social media.

- Check privacy, location and photo settings on your social channels, computer, and mobile devices.Default settings are often lax, and “Location” may be turned on to capture GPS coordinates without you realizing. Disable “Location” on your devices unless you absolutely need it; some phones allow you to turn off location settings for specific phone applications. For privacy settings, include audiences you want to share with and disable those you want to exclude.
